Water Board Calls $1.720M Bond Election for Needed Water & Waste Water System Improvements

The Fayette County WCID Board of Directors, at its August 11, 2016, ordered the calling of a $1.720M bond election, to be held on November 8, 2016, to fund many needed water and waste water system repairs and improvements.

The complete Order Calling for a Bond Election can be found by clicking HERE for English or by clicking HERE for Spanish (Espanol).  A complete copy of the Order (in English and Spanish), along with the prepared Engineers Report, are also available for viewing at the District office located at 100 Country Club Drive in La Grange.

The Board will hold two town hall meetings, for all members of the District, on Tuesday, October 12th and Wednesday, October 13th at 6:30 p.m. at Frisch Auf! Valley Country Club (in the Valley View Room) located at 575 Country Club Drive in La Grange.  The Board urges everyone to attend one of the meetings and to get out and vote on November 8, 2016.

The Bond Election would fund a vast array of needed repairs and improvements, including the drilling of a new primary water well, and a thorough evaluation of the entire waste water system to identify the location of inflow and infiltration problems that are costing the District atleast $40,000 annually in sewer treatment overage charges with the City of La Grange.  Other needed improvements include the purchase of (2) tank mixers to help alleviate total trihalomethanes within the system, variable frequency drives for four water plant booster pumps, generator(s), a SCADA system, and the reworking, and eventual replacement, of the water plant aerator.

Anyone having questions or concerns regarding the upcoming bond election are urged to contact one of the Board Directors or the Office Manager.
